In Their Words
“Derrek's approach to mental training for athletes is current and refreshing. His techniques and practices are spot on and encourage our student athletes to look within themselves, to improve their mental edge. In addition I am amazed at how just a few sessions can help jumpstart both athletes and coaches to take the next step to improve both the individual and the team for the greater good.”
Don Dalziel, M.Ed., CAA
Director of Athletics, Shoreline School District"Thanks for the work you did with team recently. Several players have said that you helped them simplify things in their heads and they felt very good about going into training this week. I truly believe your work is one of the pieces that will contribute to our success this coming fall. I wanted to let you know that we did do the “WIN” training session today and it really seemed to resonate with several them about “why” we do what we do. It was great! Thanks again and I look forward to having you help our team move into this next stage of building a championship culture."
Derek Pitman
Head Coach, University of Idaho Women’s Soccer"In 2001, Derrek and I set out to change the Division I women's soccer program at DePaul University from a repeatedly unsuccessful program into a Champion. Anyone who has ever done this knows that you begin with a program's perception. More to the point; you have to get the players to THINK of themselves in different terms. Derrek's Mental Training work with the team was instrumental in making this change. In the end, we were able to change insecure young ladies into strong confident women who were not only champions on the field and in the classroom but, also in life long after they left the program. Derrek’s work with these ladies was life altering and they will forever be happier and more successful because of his work with them."
